The winner of the Fisker Karma two-year lease was drawn Monday, April 22, 2013 at the exclusive Fisker Reveal party at the Loews Hotel Atlanta.
Funds raised from the raffle will directly benefit the Captain Planet Foundation’s Small Grants Program, which provides critical ‘gap funding’ to formal and non-formal educators who seek to implement high-quality, solution-based programs that empower youth to become environmental stewards and global environmental change-makers.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers made a big showing at DragonCon this year! Check them out as they walk down Peachtree in the parade. They even got a shot with Kwame himself, LeVar Burton!Fans of the show were able to shake hands with their favorite characters and we are pretty certain there are now some new Planeteers as well. Dave FM's Earth Day Birthday (36 photos)
This year marked the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, so Dave FM decided – what better reason to create a new Atlanta musical event? That thought introduced the first Dave FM Earth Day Birthday, presented by Ted’s Montana Grill. Headlining the concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater was Ben Harper and Relentless Seven along with Guster. Alberta Cross also be performed during the night. Other local nonprofits were also featured to help guests learn more about going green.

The Earth Hour Atlanta Committee and Atlantic Station featured a Family Fun Fest in celebration of World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) annual Earth Hour with games and entertainment with an environmental and sustainable focus. Entertainment (noon – 3 pm) featured the Seed & Feed Marching Abominable, Dem Shelton Boyz, New Knerds, with appearances by Captain Planet, Petunia Garner and Eco Squirrel. Activities for children included arts and crafts, kids' parade, environmentally conscious vendors, performances of the Earth Hour Rap, and children's poster contest winner announcements.

This concert celebrated the opening of a school garden CPF funded and the awarding of Ovie Mughelli as an environmental steward.
Students (fourth and fifth grade) assisted an Eco Construction expert in building a two Captain Planet Gardens on the campus of Harbordale Elementary School in Ft. Lauderdale. This replaces on...es that were destroyed by reconstruction of the school, now a green school. Students also reported on the construction through the in-school media. All students then participated in a celebration kickoff Earthman concert event.
