Alex Reeves joined the Captain Planet Foundation as Vice President in 2018. In his role Alex provides guidance and leadership on all operational aspects of the organization as well as leading the development and successful implementation of the Captain Planet Foundation’s new strategic plan.
Prior to joining the Captain Planet Foundation, Alex spent nearly a decade in New York City where he served in a leadership role with the Clinton Global Initiative as the director of CGI America. In this role, Alex lead a team that brought together leaders from business, non-profits, government, and philanthropy to generate collaborative and measurable actions to support inclusive economic growth and increased social mobility in the United States.
Before leading CGI America, Alex oversaw the organization’s work on domestic education issues, with a special focus on STEM Education and Early Childhood Education. Prior to joining CGI, Alex spent the first decade of his career in the private sector in before transitioning to the social sector when he was part of the team that helped launch an education-focused community development initiative in Athens, GA that received one of the first Promise Neighborhood grants from the U.S. Department of Education in 2010.
Alex and his wife Alexis, an elementary school teacher, are both Atlanta natives and University of Georgia alumni, and could not be happier to be back in their hometown.
