Siblings Carter and Olivia Ries started One More Generation (OMG) back in 2009 when they realized that many animals were in danger of becoming extinct. Their goal was to help endangered species survive at least One More Generation… and beyond. Shortly after starting OMG, the BP Gulf oil spill happened and the two sprang to action. They spent four months collecting badly needed animal rescue supplies and then personally delivered them to the region. It was there they learned that environmental issues such as plastic pollution were a major contributor to the demise of many species. They spent five months educating themselves on the issue and then hired a few teachers to help them write a weeklong curriculum that teaches the next generation of leaders about plastic pollution and shows them how they too can be part of the solution.
Carter and Olivia have continued their animal conservation efforts, have been to South Africa twice, and have been invited by the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi to be guest speakers at an international conference in Vietnam on the issue of rhino poaching. They are also in the process of completing a documentary that covers their work trying to save the species and all of their global outreach efforts.
