Lili Buffett is a graduate of Columbia University, with a degree in Economics and Philosophy. While at Columbia, Lili developed a deep passion for understanding and resolving issues related to global inequity, social injustice, and gender inequality. She has traveled with and volunteered for numerous nonprofit organizations working to address these and other social and environmental challenges around the world.
Lili is a strong advocate for women seeking leadership roles in society. She has been a long time supporter of female candidates running for elected office, with a particular emphasis on U.S. Congressional and Senatorial campaigns. She presently serves on a number of community and nonprofit boards, including the NorthStar Foundation, the Captain Planet Foundation, Central Park Conservancy’s Institute for Urban Parks, and a program committee for the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She also takes extreme pride in raising her and her husband's three year old son, Thomas.
