Ovie Mughelli

2009 Superhero for Earth Award

Not many former professional athletes are able to keep driving as hard off the field as they are on it. For former NFL Pro Bowl fullback Ovie Mughelli, it’s all in a day’s work. When he’s not working to engage, enlighten, and entertain adults and kids alike about the necessity of living green, he embraces his abiding love of sports by serving as a sports analyst. Working in both television and radio with CBS Sports Radio, 680 The Fan, SEC Gridiron Live.

“Sharing my opinions and personality off the field on a sport that I have loved for so many years is so rewarding,” says Mughelli. “I still have teammates, and film to study, just like old times!”

Ovie Mughelli played 9 years in the NFL as a starting Pro Bowl fullback for the Atlanta Falcons and the Baltimore Ravens. Ovie was among the biggest fullbacks to play the game, known for being a power blocker, for being able to pick up blitzes, and one of the best special team minds in the game.
