Director, Engagement and Partnerships
Rev. Alexis Chase joined the Captain Planet Foundation as the Development Director in January 2020. For the past six years Alexis was the Executive Director of The Friendship Center of Atlanta, Inc and the Vicar of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. Prior to that she was the Executive Director of Georgia Interfaith Power & Light, which is a state-wide non-profit that helps empower communities of faith to embrace stewardship of Creation and combat climate change. In 2008 the EPA and the White House named her as the climate change communicator of the year. She has testified on behalf of the environment at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in front of the Georgia General Assembly, U.S Senate and House of Representatives, and the Georgia Public Service Commission. She has been a speaker and/or workshop leader at several national/regional conferences including; Interfaith Power and Light, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Department of Behavioral Health, EPA, Silence the Shame, national/regional gatherings of the Methodist Church, Lutheran Church, Episcopal Church, Southern Baptists, Unitarian Universalists, and other denominations Alexis has her B.A from Tufts University and her Master’s of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and her Anglican Studies certificate from Church Divinity School of the Pacific. She also has her certificate of non-profit leadership, certificate of non-profit development and fundraising, and is certified in mental health first aid. She is currently the President of the Drew Charter School PTA. She has been published in the Church Health Reader, Young Clergy Women International, She is originally from Kentucky and has an almost unhealthy love of Kentucky basketball. She lives in Atlanta with her two young sons.
