Laura Turner Seydel to be Keynote Speaker for 2015 Sustainable Meetings Conference

The Green Meeting Industry Council has confirmed Laura Turner Seydel to be opening keynote speaker for their annual Sustainable Meetings Conference, which will be June 17 – 19, 2015 at The Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.

Seydel is an international environmental advocate and an eco-living expert who is dedicated to creating a healthy and sustainable future for our children. In addition to serving as the chairperson of the Captain Planet Foundation, which promotes hands-on environmental education projects worldwide, she is a director of and works with the Environmental Working Group to limit the toxic chemicals in food, air, water and consumer products. In 2004, Seydel co-founded Mothers and Others for Clean Air and is currently the Chair of the Board. Seydel is the daughter of Ted Turner, and serves on her family’s foundation boards including The Turner Foundation, Jane Smith Turner Foundation, the Turner Endangered Species Fund, and Ted’s Montana Grill. She is vice chair of League of Conservation Voters Education Fund and sits on additional national boards including League of Conservation Voters, Defenders of Wildlife, Waterkeeper Alliance, the Carter Center Board of Councilors, as well as serving on the advisory board for the Ray C. Anderson Foundation.
