The Captain Planet Foundation is gearing up for the Southeast’s largest eco-benefit, the 2017 Benefit Gala. Co-chaired by Cara Isdell Lee of Buckhead, Kiki Goshay, and Susan van Liere, the event will be held at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead on December 8. Each year, the Foundation celebrates today’s environmental champions and the programs that empower heroes of tomorrow.

This year’s honorees are nothing short of spectacular. Actor and activist Mark Ruffalo (currently filming for his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in “Avengers: Infinity War” in Atlanta) will receive the Superhero for Earth Award for his dedication to renewable energy transformation. Joel Sartore, photographer, conservationist, and founder of National Geographic’s Photo Ark (JoelSartore.com/photo-ark), will receive the Exemplar Award for his tireless commitment to documenting the world’s most endangered species before they disappear. Youth indigenous activist and actor/singer/songwriter Ta’Kaiya Blaney will be honored with the Young Superhero for Earth Award. Read Full Article
