Most youngsters would probably turn their noses up at a chance to eat vegetables and adult foods like pesto. But 11-year-old Esther Green, of Atlanta, has decided she likes to eat fresh-grown tomatoes wrapped in hand-picked basil, pesto and salad dressings made with ingredients straight from the garden.

“I refused to eat tomatoes at home,” says the sixth-grader at Centennial Academy near Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. “It wasn’t until I tasted tomatoes we grew in our garden at school that I realized how delicious they were, especially with fresh basil.” Read Full Article
