3-D Science in the Schoolyard

DOE CPF logoIf you missed our summer workshops across Georgia, there is one more chance to become certified as a Facilitator of “3-D Science in the Schoolyard” this fall. Join us at Oxbow Meadows near Columbus, October 2-4, for an exciting opportunity to prepare your own professional learning events related to the new Georgia science standards. The three-day immersive workshop is designed especially for science content specialists, curriculum developers, STEM coordinators, RESA staff, and outstanding science teachers with prior training and/or experience in “3-Dimensional Science,” who will be delivering professional learning to others in their area. Both K-12 educators and naturalists or informal educators are welcome. The workshop focuses on modeling 3-D Science lesson plans that incorporate student-driven investigations, real world problem-solving, and authentic projects in the schoolyard. Participants will receive Facilitator Kits to conduct at least one PL session in their school or district, and come back together to discuss implementation successes and challenges in fall and spring.
