The Nature Conservancy in GA
Executive Director, The Nature Conservancy
Deron Davis is a conservation professional who has been with TNC-Georgia since 2010.
Deron, a Georgia native with a business degree from The University of Georgia, has committed his career to conservation beginning with an internship at the Georgia Conservancy, then as executive director of the Dunwoody Nature Center, and as an environmental outreach coordinator for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Deron joined The Nature Conservancy in Georgia as the director of conservation where he guided strategies to restore forests near Columbus, establish new recreation areas along the Altamaha River, improve water quality in North Georgia and significantly reduce agricultural water use in southwest Georgia.
Today, as executive director, one of Deron’s top priorities is to show the citizens of Georgia how conservation contributes to the quality of their lives. “I want people to understand and appreciate that nature is the foundation of our society, to place a personal value on conserving it and to demonstrate their support for conservation by exploring the beautiful state of Georgia and then volunteering with and giving to organizations like The Nature Conservancy that help protect it.”
