Chief Operating Officer
Latoya A. Henry (she/her) serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Captain Planet Foundation overseeing program management, implementation, scaling, and strategic planning to empower young people as environmental problem-solvers.
Prior to joining CPF, Latoya was the Vice President of Programs & Partnerships at Usher’s New Look (UNL), where she led strategic program initiatives, managed corporate and foundation grants, and launched innovative national programs and a comprehensive CRM system. While at UNL she created and launched Disruptivate! which serves as a platform for amplifying youth voice on a variety of topics and engaging with partners such as CPF for Disruptivate: Environmental Justice.
Before UNL, Latoya excelled as an independent consultant, orchestrating fundraising events and campaigns, managing brand strategies, and executing impactful media relations for non-profits focused on children and education. Latoya’s notable events include “Swing!: A Summer Cocktail Party” with Jazz at Lincoln Center (JACL) and “Art + Jazz” with JALC and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And, at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, she served as Director of Marketing, leading dynamic brand-building campaigns.
Latoya serves on the Board of Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and History from Spelman College and holds a public relations certificate from New York University.
