Lauren Stone

Manager, Special Projects

Lauren Stone (she/he) first joined the Captain Planet Foundation team in 2024 as an AmeriCorps VISTA member. During this year of service, Lauren contributed across all of the Foundation’s programs, supporting youth throughout its various age-focused initiatives.

In 2025, Lauren accepted a full-time position with the Foundation as Special Projects Manager. In this role, she continues to support each program by providing guidance and logistical coordination for events, as well as helping to expand the Foundation’s reach and impact.
Lauren graduated from Georgia College & State University in 2022 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Anthropology. Her academic work emphasized the intersection of environment and human interaction, with a particular focus on how green spaces can foster community-building among minority groups.

Throughout her career, Lauren has been dedicated to educating diverse audiences about environmental issues, especially plastic pollution. She has served as a project manager with the environmental documentary production company 2050 Pictures, contracted for event support with the Ocean Plastics Leadership Network, and helped translate an educational plastic pollution workbook in partnership with ECOLECTIVOS.

At the Captain Planet Foundation, Lauren is driven by a passion to help youth connect with their communities by centering the heart in environmental action.
