Leesa Carter-Jones joined CPF in 2012 and has led the organization’s successful launch of the Project Learning Garden, Project Hero, EcoSTEM Resource Kits, and Changemakers programs. She is also proud to have lead CPF in co-founding the Ocean Heroes Bootcamp & Network to help activated youth run effective campaigns against the plastic pollution and climate crises.
Leesa has a BA in Communications from Wake Forest University where she graduated with honors and served as Captain of the Women’s Basketball Team. She has over 25 years of executive-level experience in industries such as: organic products, green building, and non-profit arts management. Prior to joining CPF, Leesa served as Executive Director for the U.S. Green Building Council – Georgia Chapter as a leading advocate and educator for sustainable communities, green jobs and green building. She graduated with the 2012 Class of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership.
Leesa is a recognized and respected speaker in the fields of sustainability, environmental stewardship, and youth education programs; and serves on the Board of the Minnesota Colorectal Cancer Research Foundation, and the Steering Committees for FoodWell Alliance and the Rocky Mountain Wolf Project. She has been a Judge for FIRST Robotics Global Innovation Award, the Environmental City Pitch for the Mayor’s Fund of London, Georgia Green Ribbon Schools, and with the USGBC Center for Green Schools.
