Sanna Jambang

Planeteer Alliance Regional Coordinator, West Africa (North)

Sanna Jambang (he/him) is a dedicated environmentalist, youth leader, and educator. He is multilingual, fluent in English and French, and speaks Mandinka, Wolof, and Fula. He holds a Higher Teachers’ Certificate and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English Language.

His advocacy journey began in 2019 through the Scout Movement, where he served in key leadership roles and led youth trainings on leadership, climate change, and plastic pollution. He later joined the Planeteer Alliance, becoming one of the first Gambians certified in Climate Awareness Campaign Strategies and successfully implementing a youth-focused project nationwide.

Rising through the Planeteer Alliance, Sanna now serves as Regional Coordinator for West Africa North under the Captain Planet Foundation, mentoring young environmental volunteers across the region. In education, he progressed from classroom teacher to Cluster Representative, supporting multiple schools. Through hosting meet-ups, leading projects, and organizing environmental summits, Sanna Jambang has emerged as a role model advancing youth leadership and environmental advocacy in The Gambia and beyond.
