Captain Planet Foundation and Turner Foundation are pleased to once again provide award grants to the Georgia schools who were announced today by the U.S. Department of Education as 2014 Green Ribbon Schools. Arcado Elementary School (Gwinnett County Public Schools) and High Meadows School (Private School, Roswell) were recognized for their exemplary efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, promote better student health, and ensure effective environmental education.
These schools proudly join the 2012 winners: Arabia Mountain High School (DeKalb County Public Schools), Savannah Country Day School (Private School, Savannah), Springdale Park Elementary (Atlanta Public Schools); and the 2013 winners: Ford Elementary School (Cobb County Public Schools) and Gwinnett County Public School District who won one of the first District Sustainability Awards – in representing Georgia’s commitment to high performance, healthy schools for our children.
