Planeteer Alliance Program Manager

Captain Planet Foundation is a 33-year-old NGO based in Atlanta, GA with the mission to engage and empower young people to be problem solvers for the planet. The organization operates four main programs across the U.S. and globally, including: Project Learning Garden, Project Hero, Green Heart STEM Challenge for Environmental Justice, and Planeteer Alliance.

Salary: $55,000 – $62,000/ year plus full benefits package

OVERVIEW

Captain Planet Foundation is seeking a Planeteer Alliance Program Manager to join our team as the key organizer of the programmatic pillar that upholds the mission, vision, and identity of the foundation. The Planeteer Alliance, our direct-to-youth training program, is central to our mission, fostering a global network of youth-driven environmental initiatives. Designed by youth and for youth, the program ensures that young leaders are actively involved in decision-making around its direction and goals. The Program Manager will manage and enhance the alliance, working closely with youth leaders, consulting them on strategic decisions, and helping shape the future of the program. Responsibilities

  • Planeteer Training & Community Management: Provide Planeteers with training, community, and collaboration to help them become champions for the planet.
  • PlaneteerHQ Platform Management: Serve as the Community Manager of PlaneteerHQ, an online platform where Planeteers learn about climate change and climate solutions. Manage the backend by updating content, ensuring guidelines are respected, and coordinating with Hivebrite officials for smooth platform operations.
  • Team Management: Directly manage Regional Coordinators, who are contracted to support and grow Planeteer Alliance activities and Planeteers in regions with significant participation. Oversee the activities of AmeriCorps VISTA team members assigned to the Planeteer Alliance, ensuring alignment with program goals and effective project execution.
  • Youth Group Consultation: Collaborate with global youth groups like the Design Squad, Wisdom Council, and Planeteer Ambassadors, alongside the Youth Impact Manager, to shape program goals and strategies.
  • Partnership Building: Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations, funders, and partners to support the Planeteer Alliance’s operations, events, and programs.
  • Fundraising Support: Collaborate with the Executive Leadership team to enhance fundraising efforts by utilizing storytelling and program success metrics, while actively engaging a diverse range of stakeholders to further the program’s mission.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, social work, public administration) preferred.
  • Previous experience in nonprofit organizations, volunteer work, or community involvement is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and other relevant software applications.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and values, demonstrating a passion for making a positive impact in the community.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
