Description:
The students at Point Road Elementary School are connecting with their local pollinators! With the help of community experts, alumni, and beekeepers, the students studied bees and butterflies – researching plants that attracted pollinators and what would happen without them. The students planted pollinator seeds to create a healthy environment for bees and butterflies and to further study the pollinators.
Continuous impact/Community engagement:
The school plans on furthering this project throughout the seasons with summer watering and weeding programs and fall-blooming plants. The students will get to see the life of a plant and how pollinators interact with them.
