Description:
The Mountain Sky Middle students maintain and care for over 300 gallons of saltwater habitats on campus – including a 150-gallon display reef aquarium full of living animals called corals! This project set a challenge before the students to design mounting plates for the corals to attach to so they can be added to the aquascape in the reef tank. Using 3D printing and scanning, the students printed their designs and implanted them into the tanks.
Continuous impact/Community engagement:
Mountain Sky Middle’s reef tank continues to mature and grow. The work the students put into developing frag-mounting plugs will be helpful for each tank they continue or start to maintain.
