Planeteer Alliance Champions Global Youth Action Through 22 WIND Summits

Over the weekend of July 25–27, more than 1,300 young changemakers across 11 countries gathered for 22 youth-led WIND Summits, supported by over $38,000 in funding from the Laura Turner Seydel Living Legacy Fund. Powered by the Captain Planet Foundation’s Planeteer Alliance, these events were designed to explore circularity, waste management, and how youth can drive local environmental action.

WIND, this year’s central theme, symbolizes the potential circularity of our resources. Across the globe, young leaders hosted hands-on events addressing urgent issues like plastic pollution, e-waste, fast fashion, and food waste. Each Summit featured creative programming—from workshops and speakers to collaborative solution-building sessions—all focused on sustainability and systems change.

These Summits were more than just environmental gatherings—they were launching points for continued community impact. With mentorship, resources, and support from the Planeteer Alliance team, participants left empowered with new knowledge, leadership skills, and practical tools to inspire change at home.
