Position: Creative Team Leader

Captain Planet Foundation is a 33-year-old NGO based in Atlanta, GA with the mission to engage and empower young people to be problem solvers for the planet. The organization operates four main programs across the U.S. and globally, including: Project Learning Garden, Project Hero, Green Heart STEM Challenge for Environmental Justice, and Planeteer Alliance.

The Creative Team Leader serves the organization by ensuring a consistent and professional look for all assets and materials associated with the CPF brand. This role is responsible for the design and development of creative assets, website design, and providing internal and external consultation on how best to visually present and represent the CPF brand.

Salary: $45,000 /year plus full benefits package This position is based in the CPF offices in downtown Atlanta, GA.

Direct Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for all graphic creation, brand management, brand standards, creative direction
  • Manage cross-team editorial & social calendar
  • Review and edit all content to ensure they are well-written, on-brand, properly credited, and factually accurate. Must be comfortable raising these queries to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate with vendors for printing and other media needs

Work on and manage design projects including:

  • Create promotional and programmatic content for CPF, including emails, website design, lessons/handouts, social media graphics, printed materials, and presentations.
  • Create Gala designs and content.
  • Designs for graphics, video, and website across programs for Project Hero, Planeteer Alliance, and Project Learning Garden/Project Giving Gardens.
  • Project design brainstorming.
  • Maintaining design standards for the visual brand.
  • Website content and design.

Collaborate with team on:

  • Creative content (graphics, video, etc) for the website and social media channels.
  • Strategy/campaign development for social media and email marketing
  • Working with social influencers, bloggers, etc. for collaborative campaigns.
  • Implementing promotions and paid social ad campaigns.
  • SEO and SEM planning and implementation.

Oversee Social Media & Communication Coordinator – whose duties include:

  • Write, edit, and optimize social posts across platforms for owned social channels following the editorial calendar.
  • Research, write, publish, and track approved daily social content, measuring against specific campaign and organization-wide KPIs.
  • Work with Creative Team Lead to ensure continuity in messaging across all platforms, founders, contributors, influencers, and partners.
  • Work with Creative Team Lead to create engaging and informative content across social platforms and email marketing/newsletters.

Oversee Contract Graphic Intern – whose duties include:

  • Assist in design projects to create promotional and programmatic content, including emails, website design, lessons/handouts, social media post, printed materials, video, and presentations.
  • Assist with maintaining design standards for the visual brand.
  • Assist in website plugin and code corrections or updates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 years professional experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) required.
  • Video Editing (Afteraffects, PremierePro, or equivalent programming) preferred.
  • Knowledge of WordPress web design preferred.
  • Ability to self-manage, organize time and meet deadlines
  • Excellent design and proofreading skills
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with team members
  • Sense of humor
