Rachelle Wafer

Program Operations Manager

Rachelle Wafer (she/her) recently completed a 30+ year career in education as a HS Social Studies teacher, SS Academic Department Chair, and Senior Virtual Community Engagement Manager, and is honored to be working with Captain Planet Foundation as of April of 2024.

Over the years she admired students’ abilities to create, with the honor to support and guide. This included an elementary school environmental, indigenous people focused newspaper; an expressive HS literary magazine called “Vision and Voices;” service led environmental trips; and creating a HS Student Government, appointed representative entitled Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging and Equity Leader. In the past five years, students jumped on board with her idea to host “Make A Difference Mondays,” a speaker series merging well-established professionals making a difference in the world with a clear call to action for youth–which is when she first connected with the amazing, super powered CPF team.

Working in Project Operations at CPF takes Rachelle on many journeys including assisting new Planet Learning Garden schools through the onboarding process to success and sustainability, as well as planning celebratory PLG media and volunteering events around the world.
In her personal life, Rachelle is attempting to transition from a USTA, competitive tennis player to pickleball, but so far picking peppers, herbs, and cucumbers in her garden with her grandchildren, then canning four relish flavors, and counting, of “Rachellish,” is as far as “pickling” as come so far.
