Fall Intern
Akiem Williams (he/him) Hello, everyone! My name is Akiem D. Williams, and I’m excited to join Captain Planet Foundation as a Fall 2026 Marketing & Communications intern. I’m an Atlanta native and a student at Morris Brown College, where I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and Leadership.
My background combines student leadership, entrepreneurship, community organizing, environmental advocacy, and cybersecurity training. I currently serve as Basileus of the Alpha Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and as an advisor with the Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement. I also previously served as Secretary of the Grove Park Neighborhood Association. As the owner of a Stratus Building Solutions franchise, I have gained experience in project management, budgeting, client outreach, and business operations.
My connection to environmental work is personal because I grew up on Atlanta’s Westside and understand how neighborhood conditions affect health, opportunity, and quality of life. I have helped lead youth climate and electric-vehicle education efforts and supported a Westside community orchard project that engaged approximately 100 people and added 19 plants to the community.
During my internship, I’m especially interested in supporting the Green Heart STEM Challenge, Planeteer Alliance, Project Learning Garden, and the Foundation’s marketing and development work. I look forward to learning from the team, contributing wherever I can, and helping young people recognize their power to create meaningful change in their communities.
