On Monday May 20th, the Captain Planet Foundation and its Summer interns joined Ford Elementary for a garden work day in their Victory gardens! The students identified, harvested and answered questions about the gardens they planted, then washed and taste tested all of their herbs and vegetables. With several work stations that included “make your own salad dressing” and “put together your own salad,” the students were able to enjoy the literal fruits of their labors while learning about gardening, seasonality and practice their cooking skills!
