Description:
The students studied how wind energy works and built a wind turbine using an inventor kit. The wind turbine is a 1500 watt generator which will provide energy to a farm school which doesn’t have any electricity on site.
Continuous impact/Community engagement:
The wind turbine will provide heat for the greenhouse so children can grow vegetables all year. The vegetables will be used in the school’s snack/lunch program and provided for elderly and low-income patrons so they have fresh vegetables at no cost. The students will continue to manage the wind turbine and its upkeep.
