Description: The Junior Naturalist program at Paul Banks Elementary School in Homer, Alaska was awarded a $500 ecoSolution grant to support the production of a local field guide.
Because this very rural school has limited access to reliable internet, this grant allowed 189 2nd graders to each investigate a local plant or tree so their illustration and information could be used for the guide.
The guide is now printed and distributed to all students at the elementary school to use as a reference guide for local flora.
