Students will work together to model how the life cycle of the land progresses from bare rocks to a mature forest. Then they will apply that understanding to their schoolyard looking for evidence of stage’s of the land’s life cycle.
Students will make a thermometer to measure temperature.
Students will analyze weather charts/maps and collect weather data to predict weather events and infer patterns and seasonal changes.
Students will create a meteorological broadcast for garden growers.
Students will design a way to keep plants warm in the garden during the cooler months.
Students will examine George Washington Carver’s life and time, and examine how it is similar or different to our lives today.
Students will identify the scientific contributions made by George Washington Carver.
Students will review George Washington Carver’s scientific processes and findings, and prepare his recipe for cooking sweet potatoes.
Students will research and replicate George Washington Carver’s process of growing sweet potatoes.
